TomTom Go Maps redundant if unit upgraded?

My father has one of the original TomTom Go units, and is thinking of switching to the TomTom One. The problem is that he recently bought the Maps of Western Europe on CD, and doesn't want to re-purchase them if he buys a new unit.
Does anyone know if these maps transferable, or if there's a licence transferring scheme which will enable him to retain the use of the maps without needing to repurchase?

If he's only activated the maps once, he should be able to activate them for the ONE as well, but should be sure that he doesn't sell the MOWE CDs with the GO (if he's not intending keeping it as a backup), as they should only be used on one device.

Many thanks for the reply. I'll let him know that he can activate the same maps on a ONE, and advise that he'll need to remove them from the original GO.
