I, and others elswhere, have raised the question of whether there are any 'sunshields' available from retailers to use on SatNav devices to shield the screen from strong sunlight.
Anyone seen anything like this for sale anywhere _________________ Gee-Pee

There are plenty for StreetPilot's, GO's and One's but I haven't seen any for Navman as yet
Drumma do some excellent GO and ONE visors, http://www.drumma.co.uk/
as do PielFrama and Krusell. Touratech also do some for the Garmin StreetPilot series. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Or email Drumma and ask if they might like to make a Navman visor? _________________ Darren Griffin |

HI all just got this email from Drumma.
Quote: | We have been looking into the Navman as a candidate for a visor.
However we are unsure as to the extent of the market right now and as the setup costs are very high, we cannot proceed at this time.
We are about to launch a new visor for the TomTom ONE and we need to get that moving first.
On the positive side, our next product will very likely be for Navman. It is just a question of timing.
Perhaps you can 'DRUM' up some support through the forums. The more people contact us with enquiries, the quicker we can move.
Thanks for your enquiry. We will keep your email on file and will contact you as soon as the situation changes
Regards
Customer Service. | I suggest to all of us do as requested and possibly we might get what we need.
Regards

Got exactly the same response, DRP!
To save anyone going back to the link, here it is again. http://www.drumma.co.uk/
Just try emailing Drumma to ask for a Sun Visor for your Navman device. _________________ Gee-Pee

Visors for some Garmin, TomTom,NavMan & Magellan models on Ebay at http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZbidnutmanQQhtZ-1
Just ordered one for Garmin i3 for £7.19 delivered from USA. Thought it worth risking at that price. Will report back when I receive it. _________________ Anita

http://www.glarestomper.com/images/Install.pdf gives the installation instructions which involves sticking velcro to the device (top and sides) and letting the adhesive harden for 30 hours. I should be interested to hear how this works out. Bearing in mind the controls on the iCN5XX on top (reset), left side (SD Card) and the right side (Volume, stylus & earphone socket), how easy will it be to access these
I presume that the velcro is cut to avoid these controls and a little hacking undertaken to the hoody
Still, unless Drumma come up with a hood similar to the TomTom, then there is not much choice - apart from do-it-yourself :x
Looking forward to hearing more....... _________________ Gee-Pee

Have just e-mailed Drumma, received a very quick reply saying that they had dropped plans for an icn 510 hood due to lack of demand.
So that's that then. |

Oh well Back to the black card, sticky tape and inventiveness then - it worked last year so now I have a template for this year. _________________ Gee-Pee

I emailed Drumma asking them to consider a sunvisor for the 510/520 and got this reply:
"Thank you for your enquiry.
Unfortunately we have no plans at this stage to produce a visor for the Navman series.
We did investigate the possibility but there seems to be insufficient interest to justify the high setup costs.
We will keep your email on file and contact you if the situation changes.

Customer Service. " _________________ tomtom one v2 - 7.162
