Is there any Navteq-based navigation software for Pocket PC? I know about CF Que, but that requires Garmin's own GPS reciever. I am looking for something that lets me use Holux GR230 BT GPS and Ipaq 4700. |

Pocket Co-Pilot and Mapopolis spring to mind. Also Navigon, I think and possibly Route 66. _________________ Tim |

You are correct, the software says 'Dell European Map Version A02' and is copywrite 'Netropa Corp.'
The map version is 'Navteq - A02' - the CD box quotes 'Navteq on board |

I am very impressed by the performance of the Dell system.
The maps are as accurate as can be reasonably be expected, with only very few very new streets un-named.
The routing and directions with only minor hiccups (occasionally saying the wrong exit on a roundabout - i.e. first exit which will later be amended to second) have been good.
My only complaint is the dearth of P.O.I.s and the lack of any information on IF I can amend the listings and HOW to do so.
This is my first ever foray into GPS and Sat-Nav systems so I am not in a position to compare with anything else, but I do not now drive anywhere without the system installed and running in my car.
I hope this helps
Regards

However you don't know who wote the software for Netropa who licence is elsewhere). It is suprising how complicated the Market is, and how many of the smaller companies, turn out to be just licencing the software from one of the big players, with just a few minor modifications to the front end. |
