Take the memory card out of your i3 and take it for a drive if you want to see what they are like.... |
When I took the card out and turned the unit on, it just asked me to insert the card??!! _________________ i3 user since November '05

thanks jonnybad |
I'm probably missing something simple - but having loaded a list of 3 places in france as lat and long onto the i3 - having made a .CSV and used the POI loader - how do pick them as destinations to navigate to? |
I found tha Lat and Lon of Perpignan airport in south France, as my auntie lives near there, but when I selected it in the i3, it didn't find a route, so I assume the basemaps perhaps don't cover France that far south.
To select a destination from a POI file (assuming the basemaps stretch that far), from the main screen: Where to, Hotels food etc, custom points, then select the name from the list. This is how I did it anyway.
Hope this helps. _________________ i3 user since November '05

After a lot of playing about, I finally got City Navigator version 6 to work on a spare microSD card. Been checking it out and works a treat.

Hi Richwafta
Can you tell me what you needed to do to get your spare micro SD card to work.
Also, did you use City Navigator version 6 or the "NT" version people keep talking about.
Asking as I may have a copy of original City Navigator version 7 I can get my hands on. |

I treated myself to a 250Mb Transflash card (£13.99) and a card reader. Mapsource was already installed on my PC so it was just a case of transferring the maps I needed onto the new card. I managed to get the whole of France on the card, but can easily delete these and put any other country onto the card as needed.
Only problem is that you need a unique code to work on the i3, otherwise it will only show primary routing. I managed to obtain the code for my unit and it is working great. Can see down to street level and can address search. Only tried in simulation mode, but appears to be working fine |

Hi Rich,
Sounds like I may be nevigating in Europe later this year :D
The unique code - is this the unlock code?
I had problems trying to register my i3 and Garmin ended up sending me a delux 25 digit unlock code for CN V7 - which was nice! |

The problem is it looks like the City Navigator NT software is now available as a stand alone product |

Yes, you have the correct license key to unlock full EU coverage and this key will be linked to the serial number of your GPS (it won't work in someone elses unit). Now all you need is the CD...
I don't know how you get the CD though. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Pity
Will my city select NT v7 key work on either "City select" or "city Navigator" as it is linked to the i3 or is it also linked to the software?

I think it is linked to the map product. If they said "City Select" in the email when they sent you the unlock code then I don't think it will work with City Navigator (I've never tried it though so I can't be 100% certain) _________________ Gone fishing! |
