:D HI i have a tomtom one useing 5.420 i have updated my sd card to a 512 sd and successfully copied the files to the new card but now i want to put poi and safety cams on.but when i open the download i cant read all the files is this because i don't have Excel (csv files). Then my next problem is the links say this is the software for all versions of tomtom? drag and drop and so on' but when i go to the link i read this (You must be using a version of TomTom software that supports add on applications. Currently we have tested with 5.202 on the GO. The latest software 5.420 does not work with POICapture. ) does this mean poi capture will not work on my version but still use this download or does it mean none of the download will work on my version.
Or is the download the database off the gps front page the one i need. if so should i download it at work open with Excel and just drag and drop.
many many thanks

We are talking about 2 different things here.
POICapture is purely an addon utlility for capturing Camera Positions. It only runs on V5.202.
TomTom POI's don't have anything to do with Excel.
To use POI on your TomTom you need only 2 files for each category, a .ov2 file (the data) and a .bmp file (the icon).
Each pair of files are Copied/Pasted into the Map Folder.
Have a read of this. _________________ Richard

Since there are a lot of posts here about people getting confused that they don't have the correct version. Perhaps it would be appropriate to make it (more) clear that you don't need to have POICapture to use the database? |
