|
|
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct place for this but here goes. I have TT5 and a Generic wired GPS receiver. TT5 is installed on my Asus A730 and was working fine. I had no need to use TT5 for about 5 moths so it go put to 1 side. Now that I need it again it wont work
I boot up TT5 and plug in the GPS receiver and watch, the flashing red light on the GPS unit goes solid to tell me it has a signal, but TT5 reports no GPS device found. I have tried all the wired settings possible. I have tried setting it both as a TT5 GPS unit and the NMEA GPS settings, but still I get the message "No GPS Device"
I have totaly uninstalled TT5 and removed all the registry keys (I think) and re-installed but still nothing. My next thought was the GPS unit was broken so I have tried my firends Bluetooth GPS device that I know works but still no GPS device found.
My next thought was my PDA is broken but I can BT it up to my PC and transfer files and I can Activsync it using the port on the botom. I am at a total loss as to what is happening here, can any one save me
Thanks

your receiver may have reset itself to SiRF protocol. Switch it to NMEA and try again. _________________ Lutz

I would suspect either:
1. Your configuration was incorrect. In Tom Tom it is other wired GPS on com 1.
2. The connecting cable is faulty. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Well I now have a GPS module working on my PDA, it's my friends Bluetooth GPS device. So looks like the problem was my mouse.
The next question is what BT GPS to buy? I know SRIF III is a safe bet but is RFMD any good? |
