Hi Guys,
I've just upgraded my phone and it came with CoPilot Live 6 Smartphone for free (bargin).
I've read the review of the Version 5 is there a lot of different between the v5 & v6 and is it worth having since I have TTN5 installed on my Dell Axim X5. So should I just sell it or install it with the Speed Camera database and have 2 systems.
Also is CoPilot Live 6 Smartphone going to be reviewed on here?

|

Hi guys,
I've install CoPilot onto my T-mobile SDA II, but I seem to be having problems with the Speed Camera Database. Its installed but I can't get it to warn me, The icon seem to be just 3 small squares and nothing happens when I pass a camera, Its the latest update and works fine on my Poctet PC with TTN5.
If the database is installed correctlt into CoPilot what should the icon be on the sceen and how does it warn you ie sound or picture etc.
Many thanks _________________ Chorlie

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply, but I did all that. I've copied the pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp & pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2 into the save file on the phone and I can setup the POI has shown in SP6 - Enabling notification of Speed Cameras it all looks 100% the same. But on the sceen I'm not getting a Speed Camera Icon (which is what I was expecting) and I'm not been warned.
I'm missing something but not sure what , can you explain how CoPilot warns you? is it by a sound (ie a beep), do you get something showing on the screen or is it something else the AKL Web Site does make it very clear.
Thanks again for you help. _________________ Chorlie

From memory looking at ALK, when a camera comes along you should see a icon giving info of it.....but I appear to be having the same trouble as you,Chorlie. A least now I know what the 3 small squares are ... but my problem begins a while ago, The version I had with the SDA2 worked fine, I would see a small safety camera icon (as selected from the Travel & Transport category) and you knew what to expect, I then saw this upgrade/patch ALK offered so I did what they said but no cameras, I couldn't even get the camera icon in the options screen, to cut a long story short my card has been looked at twice by the ALK tech & I have been told it works perfectly (when they try it on their SDA2). So I have taken out the files I downloaded from here and tried again, I have even renamed two of them as instructed but still nothing!! A funny thing is that in the custom category and the type all I see listed is safetycameras (which had appeared after it came back from ALK). It has come to the stage that I have got a link to change it back to the orginal state.... another funny thing is that I also have a SDA with the 1st version of copilot and updated a patch and I get camera alerts... |

Installed straight to phone after saving camera file to PC, I have never installed maps or anything else to do with copilot on the pc.
Is this where I am going wrong? because I am very tempted to (try) and reload the version when I got the SDA2. |

do the update to the application then update the cameras. make sure in the data download wizzard to check the speed cameras and then reinstall to the card _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

I think this is where I am may be going wrong as I do not have the data download wizard, as seen on the ALK website, I can extract the files which automatically opens a new window listing them, then edit, select all, copy & paste etc to the storage card, save folder.... and renaming files as mentioned earlier.
So to get this data download wizard I would need to...??
as you may guess not too clued up on these matters.... |

Just a follow up....which I had forgot to mention (doh!) all POIs are shown even when I only select ie Petrol stations so I think I shall take it back to the earlier version and start all over again!
Perhaps the card is corrupted? |

I've got it working (at last).
I update the latest camera database (July 2006) and some how messed it up and it stopped working, no camera reports (voice or icon), CoPilot showed it had 8 sats locked on but the screen wasn't moved and it kept turning its self off.
So deleted the whole thing, re-installed it (the Card Reader version), deleted the old POI files etc and installed the latest camera database and today its seems to be working correctly (Voice & Icon), more through luck then anything else.
I'll see if it keeps working now. _________________ Chorlie
