I to am stuck with Ver 2.2.1 of the Garmin POI Loader. I've just tried to download the latest from the garmin site hoping they had updated the link with the working 2.2.0 ver but no such luck. I've just bought the i3 so do not have the old version of the loader backed up.
Can someone please post a link to a location with ver 2.2.0 or email me at darcy_mcnally aat hotmail dot com
thanks |

Has there been any comment from Garmin yet about this apparently faulty software?

What have I done?
Sorry Guys, If I had tried the download myself first I could have warned you all before you you also downloaded the new POI Loader. That will teach me for trying to be first. |

I think we all assumed that Garmin would have tested their software - it's not down to you to do it! I guess next time we'll try it out on someone - if we can find a volunteer! |

The new version I downloaded which worked turned out to be version 2.0 which was 7.42MB. I've just tried to download 2.2.1 again and received 2.0.
It looks like Garmin have removed the update from their site |

http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=927 still has new version... dated as 23rd jan 06 and right-click/properties of the .exe file gives version 2.2.1.3

I've just downloaded the file at work as well and sure enough it is 9.6MB. That definitely is not the file Idownloaded last night. It still has the same name though. POILoader20.exe |

Does this mean Garmin will have sorted the problem out in the new software?
BTW this is my first post although I have been lurking for a couple of weeks to get the drift of the posts. I bought the i3 just before xmas and upgraded the software to 2.70 and have downloaded speed cams and all other POI's that I could find and all are working great.

Edit the .csv file in Notepad or Excel & remove the top line containing: Longitude Latiude Name.
as the i3 doesn't need it. I did this and it upload the file even using the new software. |

I have tried this and it works perfectly with the latest download of POI Loader from Garmin.
MaFt, I used a fresh download of your database and I still had to remove the Lat, long, details, etc. from row 1 of the files even though I had an Email saying your files were ok to use with the lastest version of POI Loader.

MaFt, sincere apologies I didn't notice about loading the database from the news section not from the normal page.
(note to self, get your facts right before posting)

I too have had the problem of the new Garmin POI Loader giving an error message when loading POI files. I found that if the existing "garmin" folder in the Garmin\Points of Interest\ folder is removed or renamed, the loader works fine. I hope you find that this works for you too.
Good luck! |
