|
|
Not sure if anyone here has tried this, but I want to try and get different wav. sounds for the different active POI's.
at the moment it just use the one cosmicl.wav
Now I could just rename a wav file to the default one to get a different sound but they would all still have the same. What would be nice is a one for cameras and then something a little less intrusive for say garages or train stations or whatever...
so, when you download the POI's to the PiN it creates an sort of .ini file with some general defined settings included, eg.
<<CAMERAS
active=1
interval=-1
distance=500
time=1
visualwarning=1
soundwarning=1
soundfile=
volume=-1
From this it would appear that the sound warning=1 would be sound on, and the soundfile= should let you define a sound file, but I can't see how to get this to work. I have tried to enter a wav file name into this line, such as soundfile="test.wav" or soundfile=test2.wav, but nothing seems to make a difference and I always get the same old default sound.
anyone had any luck getting this sort of thing to work? _________________ .......

Nope !!
This has been on the Navman wishlists for a long time. Maybe one day the wish will be granted. _________________ Ian.

Ah, so may not be possible then- pity.
The file that SmartST 2005 creates must have this in mind for some future release I would guess. the <<soundfile= >> just seems to be just the bit of info.
never mind back to cosmic.wav then. |

You can change cosmicl.wav for another file. Just call your new file cosmicl.wav and rename your original one to something else. _________________ Tim |

Thanks Tim, I could rename the cosmicl file but it does not really do what i was trying , which was to have different Wavs for different active POI's.
still otherwise the navman seems to be pretty good and the avoid area feature works a treat (generally set to avoid the M25 these days). |
