Hi,
I'm in need of some help with running/installing Fugawi UK maps version 2.
I initially installed the demo version of Global Navigator/Marine ENC and this ran fine on my PC and Treo 650. After the trail period ran out I bought the UK maps version so uninstalled Global Navigator from my PC and installed UK Digital Maps v2. All runs fine on the PC.
However, having installed the app. on my Treo 650 via the Tools -> Install Palm Application Files I find the Fugawi software simply crashes my Treo 650 as soon as I try to fire it up.
I've tried uninstalling from both my PC and Treo but this hasn't helped things at all, same problem when I reinstall. I wonder if I have some remenants of the original Global Navigator software left on my Treo.
Can anybody give me a definitive guide on how to install Fugawi from both my Treo and the PC ? I suspect my unistalls haven't been too thorough as I'm fairly new to Palm hence I'm only guessing at what files to delete from the Treo.
The PC uninstall isn't too great either as when I reinstall it still knows exactly what map I was last looking at and various other custom settings. Any thoughts on whether I should work through the registry and directories for the PC uninstall too ?
Thanks for any tips,

Hi jede,
I've been trying to use the latest demo version of the Fugawi software on my Palm TX. I have exactly the same problem that you describe -start the applicatin and my Palm resets itself. Have you contacted Fugawi technical support and, if so, did they provide you with an answer?
Cheers.
Bob

Nope, I've not been in touch yet, I was hoping somebody would have an idea here !
However, doesn't look like that will be the case so have to try tech support, although I don't get the impression I'll get much help.
The demo worked fine for me, quite reliable. It's only the upgrade that has blown it all away.

I've since been in touch with Fugawi and sent out a FugPal.PRC update to the fix the problem and happily it did fix it :D
They said:
"This is a new problem associated with the new models of Palm recently released. We will be posting it shortly."
I can't see this is 100% accurate as the demo download worked for me, albeit with one or two crashes. The new seems ok although I have had a crash and hang since installing, but that's probably an improvement on the demo version which was also a bit flakey
If you want a copy I can send one to you if you like, drop me a PM with your email.
