See a few people are making money on Ebay. Looks like they bought a few for £99 and selling them for about £30-£50 profit. Nice work if you can get it, ha ha. Can't find any near me in Edinburgh and I have a few friends who would like one at £99. C'est la vie |

If you look at the auctions that have ended in the last few days, sellers are lucky to get £120-£135. Take from that £15 to cover eBay, Paypal, and postage fees and they'd be lucky to make 5 or 10 quid.
The first few from Somerfield made a killing but prices are dropping like a stone now, they will soon be selling at a loss.
I bought mine for 145 quid at Woolies, and managed to claw back 25 quid by selling another on eBay last week, I'm happy and will leave it there.
Should we feel sorry for the people who got greedy and have 5 or 10 i3s sitting at home that wont sell at a profit....? |

I never feel sorry for people who miss out through greed.
I paid £199 for mine but do not feel cheated or jealous, that's life.
I do have a couple of friends who wanted an I3 at the latest price but they can't get them (probably because of the Ebay profiteers). |

I noticed on EBay last night that someone paid £117 for one in an auction which had just closed.
As you say, at the end of the day there can't be much (if any) profit in it for the seller, and I reckon that a few more will shortly be getting their fingers burnt... shame! |

Excellent entry-level GPS, yes. For £99 (if you can still find - it's a no-brainer...) 8)

gettinh the hand of it.
I see on ebay now about £100-£110.
Looking at the main Garvin web site I note the screen is only about 1/2/size of a tom tom.
any probs with this for us old folk? |

Hi,
Had my I3 for a week now.
To be honest, I don't find I look at the screen much, I listen to the instructions and "bing bong" speed camera warnings more whilst driving.
When entering details/linking to computer, you just bring the unit a bit nearer than a TomTom....

'Course, the upside of the compact size is the ease with which the unit can be either removed from the vehicle and carried about the person (eg whilst shopping) - or indeed - effectively hidden within the vehicle.
I also agree with the comment about not actually looking at the screen whilst in motion (pretty dangerous to stare at it for several seconds, esp. in a residential area anyhow!) - I, too, rely mainly on the voice instructions whilst actually underway...
All in all, an inexpensive and functional way into GPS...I even have a mate who just pops his into a waterproof clear container - and uses it in map dislay mode - when out sailing! 8)
