I've just had a look at the TomTom website after a long time away from it and it now supports the SPV C550. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it make use of the bigger screen over the C500, any comments about it?

I'm using it (v5.20) with the C600 - does this have the same screen as the C550? (QVGA 320x240).
In terms of differences (compared with my C500) it fills the screen and thus is bigger (bigger physical dimensions of the screen) and is a lot sharper (higher resolution). The only 'functionality' differences that I've spotted are that the GPS Status page now shows the location of the received satellites (in terms of a compass layout with you at the centre) and the 'calculating route' page shows you the number of locked satellites and the battery life.
Interestingly, even v5.0 did this when I used the registry hack to force it to fill the whole screen and so this isn't something new to v5.20 but rather the 'availability' of the larger QVGA screen whilst running.

Mathew.
I have the C600, but for some reason it will not start my GPS receiver, did you have any problems getting TomTom to work?
I have been running it on my C500 for a while and upgraded to C600 last week.
I am running TomTom 5.2.

Just to let anyone else know that might be looking: -
I have just been informed from another forum that all I hade to do was add GPS to the end of the name of my GPS (Rikaline GPS)
Now works fine. :P |
