I tried a proclip and a brodit in my focus but it just looked crap. It was too much below eye level and stuck out a lot from the dash - very unsightly really so it's on it's way back. The only fitting I've seen that looks any good in a focus is the windscreen sucker to the right of the steering wheel. So I'm going to take my chances and keep leaving my glove box open and empty. Removing the holder from the windscreen is a PITA due to the power and ext mic being plugged in. |

Dont know if this is any help but I have a Honda accord and I use the surface of the central "glove box" to mount the unit. It is below the dashboard line and handy for connection to the 12v outlet just below.
This picks up a signal without ant problems, in fact the unit will pick up a signal even when locked in the left glove box! |

After removing all the evidence from your car i.e. wiping the suction mark from your windscreen etc, leave a road atlas book on the passenger seat or dash when leaving your car, it just might put a would be thief off from breaking into your car for your sat nav. _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver

I can't see how they could Void your warranty if you marked it with a UV pen however I am not doubting what you have said.
Sorry that I have been away I Have missed some of the posts that have been put up.
OK here is the offical link to the smartwater website.
http://www.smartwater.com/
Just as another point to this South Yorkshire Police currently check property such as Sat Nav's that are recovered from questionable persons.
As for Smartwater I have never used it as yet how ever I have been told that some insurance companies will give you lower premiums if your products are covered with this item.
I have also seen companies advertising their Insurance with a free bottle of smartwater thrown in!8O
Now that Can't be a bad thing, providing that the quote is competitive :D _________________ TomTom 300

So let me get this right; after removing the suction thingy, cleaning the widnscreen, leaving the glove compartments open and a map on the seat, covering the inside of the motor in "smart water" leaving the motor under a streetlight and in view of 7 cameras and locking the motor everything should be ok??
wouldnt it be easier to leave the motor in the locked garage and getting a train ?? |

its a shame that the theif is watching you do all this to/in your car and just waits for you to get out and then mugs you if they want it......they will take it. |
