dave,
this looks absol smart as..... however as i already own 3400 i was looking to get the software version only - ive mailed navman but no reply. des anybody know where the s/ware only version is avail?
also has anybody seen the scale of the maps - if so are they suitable for walking as they seem a BARGAIN compared to rip off of memorymap which works out to about 5 times as expensive for the whole of the uk regardless that u get the rest of europe! has anybody used the 3300 package? any views? |

I live in Spain and ordered the Navman 3300, however Geo - referenced Topographical maps here are all 1:25.000 and cannot be scanned and used by the 3300,and Navman will not reply to my e-mails,if anyone knows of ANY GPS system ipaq compatible or stand alone unit that has good european Geo - referenced Topographical maps and coverage (including south of the Pyrenees ie SPAIN) please let me know.

The SmartExplorer software is exactly the same as Memory-Map and Maptech pocket navigator 3.16 software.
The Navman version comes with 1:1,000,000 scale maps of Europe. Not much use if you want to climb mountains. However it will read any maps provided by Maptech or Memory-Map. _________________ Mike Barrett |

I asked the same question of Navman (Could I get the software only and would it work with my 3450 slieve).
They replied yes and said that the software only option would be available at the end of the year. (Now that I think of it they didn't say which year!) |

Dec,
If you already have the sleeve why not buy memory-map software. It has the same functionality and is available from retailers now. _________________ Mike Barrett |
