January 11 2006 Garmin UK announce the updated GPSMAP 60Cx and the GPSMAP CSx handheld GPS receivers.
The original Garmin GPSMAP 60C GPS receivers are one of the most popular Garmin outdoor GPS devices. These have been given a make-over and they now sport the latest SiRFStarIII GPS chipset, and also have a microSD memory expansion slot. The GPS comes with a 64Mb microSD card.
The SiRFStarIII GPS chipset is renound for its ability to obtain and retain an accurate pinpoint position even in the most adverse reception conditions such as in dense woodland and in inner citties surrounded by sky-scrapers.
The microSD allows you to download different MapSource map sets from Marine, Street Routing, or Topographical data.
The GPSMAP 60CSx also includes an electronic compas, and a barometric altimeter.
“The new x-series of handhelds gives hikers, hunters, geocachers, and boaters exactly what they’re looking for – the versatility of a memory card slot for adding highly-detailed maps,” said Gary Kelley, Garmin’s vice president of marketing.

New Product Announcement: GPSMAP 60Cx / GPSMAP 60CSx
Garmin International is pleased to announce the GPSMAP® 60Cx and GPSMAP 60CSx. These new colour, handheld mapping products are ideal for both outdoor and marine use. Designed with the latest, high-sensitivity GPS receiver by SiRF, both units track your position even in tree cover and canyons. Each provide a bright, sunlight-readable color TFT display and include a 64MB microSD card for storage of optional map detail. Garmin preprogrammed microSD cards can be purchased, providing detail for BlueChart® and European streets. The 64MB microSD card can also be loaded with data from MapSource® products like BlueChart and City Navigator™. Fast USB connectivity makes loading charts and maps quick and easy, while navigation instructions can be shared with repeaters, plotters, and autopilots using NMEA protocols through the dedicated serial port. The GPSMAP 60CSx incorporates a barometric altimeter for extremely accurate elevation and vertical profile data. An electronic compass displays accurate heading while standing still.

Depends where you live. If you are in the US then they already have Topo coverage.
But I can see that you are in Stockport so you would be after OS maps. Maybe Garmin will produce them. Magellan already have them... _________________ Mike Barrett

The Garmin rep at Basingstoke said the new topo product for the Quest would be out this month
This 60 CSx doesn't appear to have any voice guidance otherwise does much that a Quest does and a bit more
The 64 mb card supplied with the 60 x series looks a bit mean though! The Topo maps of the UK are around 1.5 GB ,they should have reduced the price of the unit and left the purchase of a decent memory card to the customer. I do like the idea of the maps being routabe .
