Hi
Just got copilot 5 for Guernsey maps and although the mapping is great, the programme is so slow at planning routes
I'm using a axim 50v and if anybody knows how to speed things up I would love to hear from you

That has not been my experience - in fact both CP5 and CP6 are significantly quicker than TomTom. Just in case your memory is clogged up, try a soft reset (similar to defragmenting a PC). If that doesn't help, make sure you have plenty of free memory. Slow calculation can be due to a poor storage card - do you have another you could try?

Hi,
I'm not sure that moving to CF will solve your problem unless for some reason your PDA does not like the SD card.
I have just sold CP5 with an SD card to someone on Geurnsey (maybe it was you!!), I used in in my IPAQ hx4700 and it was quick. As previously suggested make sure you have plenty of free memory - you did not say how much you had to spare both before CP5 is started and also after. One other thing - what do you regard as slow - if you suggest a route and post the calculation time it may give us a clue.
Regards, |
