In the above post, my 4th bullet point should read

Arrow For speed, CP 6 should display the route display by default, not the itinerary (missing words in bold).

I apologise for the number of my posts with these omissions. I believe I have a virus that is playing around with my text editing, and I don't manage to spot everything. I must find the time to reformat my computers and obtain a better virus checker.

I feel bound to add to the above posts that CP 6's routing accuracy still requires more improvement than I had so far thought. I have begun a new thread dedicated to the subject of COPILOT 6 ROUTING ANOMALIES. This should give ALK's developers, who have now shown a welcome interest in the forum, information from which to effect the necessary improvements.

who would want to drive from spalding to aberdeen via the shortest route..??

one thing i think tom tom does better, apart from reliability, is the ability to easily search for poi's on route, near route, and via of route in an instant and easily incorperate them into the route for example LPG added poi's, with the ability to display the distance from start of all respective poi's for planned distance fuel stops while planning or real-time

i did like having the ability (even though too expensive to use privately, practically for your average joe bloggs) to relay locations real time

i now own a skip hire company and would love to have that on my fleet of tom tom's to assist in drop offs and pick ups for the office staff to be more efficient in work planning.

if alk could make thier gps "industrial strength" - i would consider changing to integrated phones/cp6 for the drivers -

interesting thread

Fair enough, gsxr1000, except that the point was not that anyone would want to do so. The route was picked almost randomly, and the point was that it illustrated that CP 6 does not yet consistently calculate accurate Shortest routes.
