I've read on this site that I am entitled to a free map upgrade on my tomtom 300. I've got map version 562 and quite a few roads near me are missing.

I bought the tomtom as 2nd hand, but the original guy got it after 20th of Nov free with his corsa.

All the packaging was still sealed when I got the unit.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the update for me to download?
I've got all my activation details here and ready!!

I hope someone can help?

I've spent hours scouring the TT site, and can't find them.

I've emailed them but I was kinda hoping to get the update today

I think the free update refers to the TT700 bought after 20 Nov 2005.
It requires that you send it to TT for update.

all tt go's are covered.

hoever it is a replacemtn unit you will be sent back NOT your origional unit. also you will have to prove you purchased after 20th december.

to do this you have to call tt support line, be expactant for complete confusion at there end.

i have done this but cant say i was overlay happy due to the fact i was expecting my new unit back (no) & a higher revion of maps tobe supplied (got back v605) expected v635.

robin..

So I can't just download the map updates then?

Nuts to that, I'll wait till spring and buy an update then.

I think it's ridiculous they can't provide a cd for updating.Sending your TT Go back and getting a possibly refurbished one back is disgraceful.

It would be cheaper to send a cd.

Personally, I think it is disgusting that you send your brand new unit away to have a minor update and get sent back someone elses repaired unit. What if it had an intermittent fault that they couldn't reproduce... Does that mean you will have problems in the future etc...

Frankly, if anyone asks for recommendations regarding getting any TT equipment, I will have to suggest that they DO NOT buy from this manufacturer, based solely on the aftersales support.

Yes, I have a TTG 700, but a) it was a XMAS gift and b) knowing what I now know, I would not have bought one for myself.

My response from tomtom was that this offer was only open to Go700 Users.

why would you expect anything higher than v605? That is the latest... Previous one was 568. How did you come up with the number 635? 8O
