You can inform of removed cameras using the POICapture utility, select the capture as normal, then on the camera type page select next (RH Arrow) on the next page is a selection for remove camera, this will be stored in the same way as the others that are captured, I hope you enjoyed the trip, its a long drive but well worth the effort - Mike |

I have only started using the database in ernest recently and all the cameras I know of in my area are already in the database so what would be the point of me submitting them again? As I have said in previous posts, the fee should have been for membership and not for the database. Quite a number of other people also said this. This would have negated all the bed feeling in the first place. If you were working next to someone doing the same job for less money you would understandably be less than pleased whether you knew about it before or not.

IIRC from the offset of the POI capture prog from Lutz, PGPSW were asking for ALL cameras in existence so how does the "I've not come across any new camera's" comment carry weight as an excuse for not submitting?
There will always be those who can be bothered to contribute and those that can't/wont be bothered. In this case those that did will be rewarded, and rightly so IMO.
Move on already, this is old news! _________________ Garmin XT |

Principle doesn't matter, or right.
A typical nimby-type response from those who no longer have to pay.
|
What gives you that (somewhat offensive) impression?
As far as I can tell from the posts since u-turn was announced, the vast majority of those who have contributed in the past are STILL strongly against the charge in principle, and have said so. What more can we do? (apart from jump ship and start again, as some are doing). |

Just as an after thought. What will stop anyone who wants the database for free using POIEDIT to download the safety camera database. |

Agreed, but note I made it clear "some people".
Clearly not aimed at those who ARE unhappy despite the contrived bribe of free membership.
It is a pity that more people do not share your sense of principle in this matter. |

I read the previous pages and to be honest it went round and round and round. and then turned left at the next availabe exit.
I will pay on one condition.
There will have to be available before the download a Changes log of all the cameras that have changed and been added.
I have no possible way of knowing if the database i am getting is any different to the one the previous month. Other than file size and that coul dbe bloat really.
I still dont agree with the decision that PGPSW has taken and i personally agree that they have not listened and just done what they wanted to do anyway and charged for it.
On a side note. how will they also stop the Database being seeded on a P2P?

Possibly not, but do you really know what you're getting from a P2P site? _________________ Tim |
