Yes it can.
There are some guides that should be read (in the following order):
The beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
This explains about the different camera types and about categories and subcategories, so that you can decide how you want the database on your unit.
Depending on whether you have TomTom Navigator on a Pocket PC or TomTom GO, please read either:
How to install (camera database) POIs to TomTom Navigator 5.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto a Pocket PC running TomTom Navigator 5.
How to install (camera database) POIs onto a TomTom GO, Rider, or One.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto your TomTom GO, Rider, or One.
The above guides may look lengthy and complicated when first seen. However if you grab a cup of coffee and read each one thoroughly then they should make sense as they have been written in a step-by-step way, for ease of reading.

Hi drfox,
to the forum!
Yes the TomTom One can use the PocketGPSWorld camera database. You did read the few previous posts didn't you?
There are some guides that should be read (in the following order):
The beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
This explains about the different camera types and about categories and subcategories, so that you can decide how you want the database on your unit.
Depending on whether you have TomTom Navigator on a Pocket PC or TomTom GO, please read either:

How to install (camera database) POIs onto a TomTom GO, Rider, or One.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto your TomTom GO, Rider, or One.
Once you have installed, set up, and used the PocketGPSWorld camera database for a while on your TomTom SatNav system. You may want to share and send in details of cameras yourself. You can do this by using the PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility:
The PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility.
You do not need the PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility on your TomTom SatNav system in order to use the PocketGPSWorld camera database. However if you want to send in camera details then POI Capture makes the process of recording cameras much easier on TomTom Navigator and GO (original, 300, 500, and 700). At the moment POI Capture will not work with TomTom Rider, One, and mobile. This is for a technical reason, which we hope, will soon be rectified by TomTom.
The above guides may look lengthy and complicated when first seen. However if you grab a cup of coffee and read each one thoroughly then they should make sense as they have been written in a step-by-step way, for ease of reading.

Hi All. Happy new year!!
Today a friend bought a tom tom 300. I told him I could put the cameras on it....They work on mine...I have software version 5.201.
His has version 5.410. The camera database and/or the voices totaly screwed up the way the software worked. The icons in \change preferences were swapped with their titles. Is the new software very new? Untested? Have tom tom changed things so that the current database wont work? Will the only camera database be available from tom tom? (via the paid for plus service).
Regards all, Clive. |

The camera database will work the same, with ov2 and bmp files.
The only thing that you have to be careful with is lack of free memory on the SD Card. Try deleting any unused Voices.
Did you mean that the Camera Warning Voice was at fault?
Have you donwloaded the correct data.chk file for 5.410, as it is different to the one you use on 5.201?
5.420 is the latest version. _________________ Richard

Many thanks, I'll look into that. I did free up some memory (voices and licence text files) but it was all the titles under the icons that had been swapped around!! This only happened when I loaded ovl and bmp files and the data.chk file and added ozzy in the voice folder.
Meybe it was the data.chk file. I will play with it.

There have been a number of people having problems with the 'ozzie' voice.
If you do a Search for Ozzie you can have a look to see if that is causing your problem. _________________ Richard

Hey people, I'm new here but read the forums if I need info and use the site as a whole for all my GPS reviews etc. Great work and keep it up :D
Anyhow, I was just wondering if it was possible to use an idea I have had. It may well have been asked before but I can't find anything in a search.
What I was thinking is that would it be possible to have just the .o2v files available for download in separate files rather than the main big zip file. And also to not include the .bmp images.
This way, I could access the relevant webpage via the internet browser on my mobile, download the required .o2v files straight onto the TomTom (or other) map I use. I can update from anywhere I want then, rather than having to download the entire large zip, sort what I want and then transfer to my phone.
Just and idea |

Ah cool. I'll look forward to it
I currently use the speed zoned files and it wold be great to be able to update at anytime and from anywhere.
Was also going to post that it's great the amount of time and effort you guys put in to making this happen....FOR FREE. I think it's something a lot of people forget. Actually, it was something that I almost didn't post up my suggestion as I thought it might come across as being ungrateful for what you already do, hehe. |
