i have managed to obtain medion navigator 5.1a however its german i have a pna175. wind ce 420 all hacked so i get the start button etc.
i have had a play around with the settings, i am able to change the language for the settings.exe program however not for the main nav program.
after reading on here for a few days about pois etc after installing the update it shows in product info as 5.1a, and also in the medion directory there is a new folder with poi. this contains aldi.ovl and aldi.cat no idea what they are guessing they are databases of known pois which i would asume for germany. i have checked on my uk map for placed of known speed traps but nothing shows. i know this medion navigator 5.1 is some what of a hot request around here would any one be able to change the lang from ger to eng and sort out the pois ?
replys welcome |

I am very impressed that you could load 5.1, albeit in German. I have been trying to upgrade my PNA100 to 5.1 from 5.0 using my wife's Aldi PNA250 CD (which has 5.1), but without success. How would you like to share your thoughts, as there are many out there trying to upgrade to 5.1 due to the Poi-warner problem? |

Having looked at the navigating.de site. Although it states the poi warner is for version 5.1 all the rest of the text following the site and reading the pages to checkout refer to be able to use 5.0.
Where did it come from that 5.0 doesnt work? Anyone tried it on v5.0 ? |

Poi-warner definitely does not work with Medion Navigator 5.0. I think some people are confused with Navigon 5.0, which is compatible with Poi-warner |

Updated mine with same update but converted it back to english.
If you reinstall your original software and copy the medion folder to your hard drive then update to 5.1.
Now copy files settingLangENG.dll, langENG.dll, setting.ini, poi.cat, NavLib.ini and sound/english_sound.sfs form your hard drive to your unit and soft reset you should now find that its in english.
Not sure if it speaks in english yet though as i havent used it.
5.1 inproves postcode for me not sure what else it does though |
