|
|
Hi,
Having trouble connecting my TomTom Go 300 to my p910i for Plus services. I am using Vodafone as my carrier and I have a pay-monthly contract with GPRS enabled. I am able to browse the internet from my phone without any problems.
Have tried to connect using the following settings:
Access Point Name: Internet
Username: web
Password: web
IP: Automatic
DNS: Automatic
Dial String: *99***1#
Login Script: at+cgdcont=1,"ip","Internet","",0,0
All of the above is as specified on the TomTom web site, but it fails whenever I try it.
Has anyone managed to get these devices working together with any degree of success?
Thanks in advance.... |

I eventually managed to configure the Ericcson K700i on Vodafone and pair to the TTGO300 and more recently TTONE using similar settings but for APN I used
pp.vodafone.co.uk
If that don't work you may need to give the IP manually
Best regards

The settings we are referring to are settings that you need to set up in the Tom Tom, there may be a easier way but from memory!
I went into Tom Tom menu "Set up Phone connection" let it go through the routine then when it fails it gives you a option to set it manually.
Ensure you have BlueTooth enabled on your phone and visible, and do a search, it should find your Tom Tom ok, at some point it may ask for a passcode, the default is 0000.
Good luck

Got a bit further without the login script - the TTGO300 managed to initialise the GPRS connection over Bluetooth but still didn't complete the setup... |

Got it!!!
Difficulty turned out to be down to the carrier and not the device, and the fact that TomTom don't explain their login script properly on their "support" website.
In the case of Vodafone branded handsets, the trailing '1' in the dial string *9***1# refers to the web profile that is used by your phone. this is then reflected in the login script - at+cgdcont=1,"ip","Internet","",0,0
In order to try different web profiles, you need to increment the profile number by one in both the dial string and the login script, e.g.
*9***2#
at+cgdcont=2,"ip","Internet","",0,0
*9***3#
at+cgdcont=3,"ip","Internet","",0,0
etc.....
I got my connection working on profile number 4
Cheers

Hi Toby glad to see you solved the problem.
These are my settings including IP address and no script for Vodafone (Pay-as-you-go)
May be same for Monthly contract.
Sony Ericsson K700i, should be same for other Ericsson phones that are compatible.
APN=pp.vodafone.co.uk
Username=wap
Password=wap
IP Address=221.183.137.012
Dial=299***1#
No script required.
The above works ok for me but I will make a note of your findings for future referrence. _________________ Etrex Vista Hcx Ver. 3.60

Used your settings as described for vodafone PAYG and Sony/ericson 750i
One small typo error is
Dial 299***1# should read Dial *99***1#
All is working perfectly now
