Hi there
I have been doing a bit of reading on this site over the last few days. I originally was interested in a Mitac Mio 168 but see that there is a newer model the A201 which looks to be better (bluetooth, changable battery) but is having compatibility issues with some gps software.
My question is what maps will work with the A201? Or is there now a fix so that TomTom will work with it? Is it just a matter of time for the software to catch up with the new OS?
I'm in no particular hurry as I really only travel about in the summer but I would like to get a gps at some point. Is the A201 a good 1st Sat Nav or would I be better looking at something that is easier to set up and understand for a first timer.
TIA

TT5 will now work with the Mio 201.
Yes this is a very good unit as everything is built into it.
Remember that not only is this a fine sat nav unit it is also running Windows Mobile 5 which is great PDA software.
In my opinion I believe this is a good little PDA. |

I have just been looking at that and it looks the biz. BUT as it doesn't come with any software/maps and memory card the real world prce for using it as a gps puts it out of reach. Shame .i |

Most online stores sell the 201 with sat nav software & memory cards all in the kit. |

yea , so far tho' from what i've seen i can get the mio a201 + car kit for 234 gbp but with the maps and s/ware it's about 320 (ish) .. the alternative i was looking at being the navman PiN 570 is inclusive at 229 gbp. But the mio is more feature packed. I guess you get what you pay for.
(ps frogfone , sorry for the hijack) |
