|

FYI
I've installed Smart ST with the new SP2 service pack on a new iPAQ 5550 (PPC2003) and all works well. Very fast fixes I thought compared to pre SP2.
The only problem with the new iPAQs as many are realising is that the smaller speaker doesn't turn out enough sound. I can hear voice navigation at slower speeds without the stereo on, but not on motorways or when there's any noise in the car.
This is a pain in the arse, but liveable with. |

I could be wrong but I thought that the low volume issue was fixed with the use of a patch, not sure if it was for the ipaq or smartST Pro.
Do you know if this issue effects ttnv2 as im interested in upgrading my ipaq 3970 to the 55 series unit?
cheers... |

Guy's
I don't know if you're aware but SP2 has been updated.
If you look at the support page on the Navman america site it lists SP2 as being updated on 1st October 2003 but there is nothing to detail what is different between this update and the original. |

By the looks of things, the service pack hasn't been updated, there is just an updated installer. The volume problem is related to the iPAQ iteself. As far as I can assertain, HP had to physically shrink the size of the speaker to make space for the SIM slot. |
