Bluetooth connection with HP and TOM TOM

I have a HP2210 with Tom Tom 5 installed. Recently I purchased a Bluetooth receiver and although I have had it working fine when i ran the battery down flat on my HP when I re-charged/synced everything I had to restore all the settings.
I can connect to the bluetooth device and it shows that it is connected in the bluetooth manager.
However when trying to use the Tom Tom software it just says waiting for valid gps signal. I have checked the settings in the Tom Tom software also.
please help as it is driving me mad!!! :x
My GPS is a Fuzion X50. like I have said it connects fine and the red light flashes to show it has picked up the satelites etc -it just wont work with the Tom Tom software

In the Bluetooth Manager, have you subscribed to the SPP service of the receiver?
