I've just moved from a Garmin i3 to a Tomtom One. Does the One give speed based warnings or just distance based warnings on POIs? |

Does that mean that Tomtom isn't as capaable with regard to speed cameras as the Garmin? |

I don't know anything about the Garmin software, but the version of TomTom software on the One is capable of giving a warning as you approach a POI. Search this forum further for links to download voice warnings rather than beeps and boings! Also search for POICapture to allow you to add new Cameras to the database. Again, if you search through the forum you will find that you can also find free downloads for all sorts of goodies, including "VoiceSkins", software to allow you to create your own map colours, software to allow you to create a completely customised menu, etc.
Enjoy your new toy!!

Hi gd2,
with program POIObserver you can announce not only speed cameras.
This program is able to announce all POI's. For example shops, railway stations, whatever you want.
Regards, Peter. |
