I have been thinking for ages about investing in a Mio 168, however, I now read that there is a new version in the A201 which will be available next week to buy.
I think I've decided to go with the A201, but have several questions which I'd like confirming before I purchase.
Firstly, I'm getting mixed messages from the various websites advertising the new A201 - some say it comes with an external antenna in the box and others don't - realistically will I need this unit? (I've got a 2005 Ford Focus with a heated front windscreen). Or is it worth having in case of switching vehicles or for better GPS reception?
Secondly, I'm aware that the new A201 will use the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating software - is this compatible with add on navigation software like Tom Tom Navigator 5 if I want to buy this separately?
Thirdly, does anyone have any experience of the MioMap V.2 which is available as a bundle with the new A201? Is it worth buying this bundle, and has the MioMap software got the same POI functionality (installing your own POI, and updating speed camera's etc) as say the Tom Tom equivalent?
I'd been keen to learn on others opinions of this new A201 as reviews are yet to come out, and I'd like some reasurance before purchasing.
Many thanks
Tom |

I got my A201 today, it does come with external antenna.
tomtom 5 won't work with this pda, because its WM5
but the update version 5.21 works great.
:D charge & sync using the usb cable.
:D gps unit fold flat.
not very fast.
stylus in left side.
very stupid case.
regards

My A201 does not have an external antenna either - doesn't seem to need it though.
Also worth noting is the unit does not have an IRDA port unlike the sample version mobile-review.com reviewed.
I got mine from globalpositioningsystems.co.uk if that makes any difference - srgi where did you get yours from and does it have an IRDA port? |
