Hi
I have TomTom Navigator 5.
Please can someone tell me if it is possible to view the area you are driving through with this programme. It would be helpful while driving along to know where I am. I run the software on a Pocket PC.
Thank you. |

Do you own a GPS receiver? What PPC is it? _________________ Tim |

Just select "Clear Route" and it will tell you what street you are on. |

It comes with a little silver box that connects up to the PPC - is this the GPS receiver.
I use the TomTom 5 software on an XDA 2.
I don't what to know what street I am in, just say, if I am on a motorway, what area I am in. |

It's area names that I want to show. For example, if I was on the M1 motorway and I didn' t know exactly what area I was in, is there an option to make the Tom Tom 5 show me where I was as well as the name of the road.
I already see street names. |

No I have not. Will this show the place and area names if I zoom out - in map view?
Thank you. |

I think what Gill_110 is saying is that; is there any way for the general area (nearest town name etc) to be displayed rather than just the next exit / road name.
For example; if driving down the M6, the display could show 'Crewe', 'Stoke', 'Stafford', etc as you travel south, as an indication of where you are.
I know that while I had CoPilot5, it did just that.

You can Zoom In/Out using the Up/Down buttons on the PDA. If you have a "hard" keyboard the I/O keys will Zoom. |
