They don't really get into it much. I want to get a new GPS unit and this is one that I'm considering, the other one being a Holux GPSlim 236.
All I'm looking for is a GPS unit that will get solid Satellites locks, have a hard button on / off switch.
Any recommendations ? |

I reviewed the APOS 626 - that would fit your requirements nicely. _________________ Lutz

I've checked out your review, which made some interesting reading. There is one point that got my attention, the fact that it didn't like to get a lock whilst the car is moving.
Alot of times, I tend to set off and then let the GPS catch up i.e. When going somewhere from home I usually know the initial route to get there, So I setup and play GPS catch up.
Any other recommendations ? (sorry if I'm pressing you abit ;-) |

I've been using the 6033 since January with iPAQ2210 and TT 5.21 to be honest it is a great little GPS receiver and even gets a good lock indoors.
Three position switch off/on/auto. The auto mode switches the unit on and off when you turn the car ignition on and off if it's poser from your accessory socket.
In over 6,000 miles of driving with TT and the 6033 it has always got a fix within 10 seconds of turning on, never lost satellite fix and is very accurate.
I also use it with off road terrain mapping and even the height measurement us accurate to within 10 meters, this is a really fabulous little unit.
I'm having problems connecting it to me new i-Mate Jamin XDA with TT 5.21 but I'm sure I will overcome them, I hope so anyway. It just won't hold the bluetooth connection or the Jamin won't. Other Bbt devices link Ok though. |
