your jacket may be set to SiRF protocol. Reprogram it to NMEA _________________ Lutz

Exactly the same set-up that I've got. Unfortunately I haven't got my kit with me at work at present, and I can't remember all the menu options. I'll bring it in tomorrow and if you still can't get started I'll post the directions for you... _________________ Regards

I have the same kit and I do have mine with me. Do you have the Navman 3.1.6 driver installed? Configure the GPS as 'Other NMEA GPS', set the baud rate to 57600 and select Navman driver as the port. This works on my 3970 with Navman SE sleeve with the firmware update. Tomtom version is 5.420. _________________ Tim |

I can try. It took me ages to get a fix. Was Navman Driver at the top of the list of the Comport options? _________________ Tim |

Have you any other GPS software you can try? Navman have GPSInfo which will tell you if the GPS is actually receiving anything. Get it here. _________________ Tim |

It's an update for the later Navman sleeve, the one with the external antenna socket on the side. If you need it, you can get it here. _________________ Tim |

Tom? You got two people helping you?
Anyway, when I run GPS info it shows two sats (I'm indoors) and doesn't have a clue where I am! At the bottom of the screen it shows
Installed Drivers:
Navman
and
Active: Navman (Com4; 57600)
Below that it shows the receiver software version of 2.3.7
Does yours have anything like this? Try a soft reset first. _________________ Tim |

It sounds as though yours is the older sleeve. Does it have an external antenna socket? _________________ Tim |
