After just finishing my first long journey using a TomTom One, I have a couple of questions.
The main one is what is the point of displaying the signal strength bars? It's not like I can do anything different if there are only a few bars showing, is there? It seems particularly irrelevant to me given how good the TT1 is at getting a signal - it's always full strength when it's in the car (I even get 2 bars when sitting in my living room!)
I'd much rather replace the bars display with battery strength (much more useful info) or get rid of them altogether so the ETA time can be bigger in the display - is that possible? |

not yet. But I would agree that with the advent of SiRF III chips this - previously useful - display can now be replaced or made configurable like the other elements. _________________ Lutz

Go on.. rub it in!
If I'm driving down country lanes, I always have to keep half an eye on the signal strength bars so that I can memorise the next turn instruction, in case the wrong sort of leaf blocks the signal! |

Oh, sorry to hear that.
I have only been on motorways and main roads so far - maybe my TT1 will drop to only 4 bars in built up areas |
