mitac website downtime

after reading the many posts re mio 268/269 i went out and bought one at a very good price with the assumption that i could send for my update and take advantage of cheaper european mapping. however for the last three days the shop section of mitac mio website has been down, and the offer runs out nov 30th. nightmare! is this a deliberate ploy, ie too many applying for cheaper european mapping, so too much in subsidy payments from mitac to mapping company, therefore downtime for the website shop till say 1st dec. or am i just a big believer in conspiracy theories!
anyway any ideas welcome, thanks in advance

according to support line the offer of upgrade has been extended due to demand...how true is anybodys guess! I had the same problem myself but found by chance logged on at 7.30am in the morning and managed to get onto the site straight away so looks like the earlier you can log on the better

Just logged onto the shop site and it says:-

"Free Mio Map upgrades are not available any more through our e-shop.
You can still order them at your dealer's untill the end of stock."

Glad I ordered and recieved mine early.

i'd given up after checking everday in the lead up to the final week of the offer, however rang tech support who assured me they'd get shop up and running again. checked that day and nothing, rang next day and same promise, however to my pleasant surprise it was up again on 28th nov and i managed to place my order for euro upgrade.

still no tracking number yet, but at least i got the order in!
