All
I've just installed TTNAV2 and gps assist to use the speed camera database and the BP garage database.
Both are visible on my PPC2002 but TTNAV2 doesn't see the POI, gps assist is set correctly to both as being active.
Any ideas ?
thanks |

To show the POI's on the map in TTN2, you'll need to drop to map view, go into FILE | PROPERTIES and then POI's and tick the POI's in the list, and they'll then appear in TTN2 on the map. |

Thanks for that Dave
but the option to show the new POI's (BP Garages & Speed cameras) isn't in the Points of Interest Menu. |

Hi semirch,
Have you installed the POIs in the same folder as your map data? Have you shutdown and restarted TTNav2 to allow it to "pick up" the new POIs?

If the soft reset has cured it, then you probably had TomTom Navigator 2 still running in memory. You want to be careful of this, because if you add favourites to TTN2 and then soft reset before exiting the program completely then you'll lose all of the favourites you've added.
Personally I would install something like WisBar Advance which is a start bar menu that allows for easy closing of apps, or before you exit TomTom Navigator, don't click on the close box, goto the Navigator screen, tap, then tap NEXT twice and then tap the EXIT and confirm as this will correct exit TomTom Navigator 2 and save favourites etc. |

Dave,
Why not just use iTask to see what programmes are running - what is the benefit of Wisebar, and is it worth installing on my iPaq 3850 ?

Hi semirch,
I always use Exit on the File menu when I want to close TTN down prior to installing new POI overlays. If you leave the program using the X at the top RH corner of the screen then TTN is still open. You will then see a satellite dish icon at the bottom right of the screen. This icon should disappear if TTN is fully shut down.
As a last resort you may have to use a soft reset.

Steve, I never get on with iTask. I find sometimes it doesn't show all the programs that are running! The benefit of Wisbar Advance (WA) is that it allows you to selectively close these tasks, but also have a skinned start bar and allow you to put other sticky buttons on it like for disk free or memory free, backlight etc.
They don't have any screenshots on the Wisbar Advance page, but check out the previous version of Wisbar and you'll see the options that can be added. |
