|
|
When I set up my Safety Camera POI's, I always select the 'Warn only if POI is on Route' option.
However, I'm always getting warnings for POI's on adjoining roads. For example, when following a route on M53, it warns me of a camera on A41 which is clearly OFF route.
Does anyone know why it does this, and if there is any method to prevent it happening ?
Thanks

Can't help I am afraid. I set mine to warn all the time so that I am covered even if I am not following a route. |

i think what it means is that you have planed a route ,not the actual road your driving on |

Not quite sure what you mean by this one. If you don't tick the box you will get a warning whenever you come within the distance you have set for that warning, regardless of where the camera is. When driving on motorways I sometimes get warnings for cameras on the raods going over or under the motorway or maybe running nearby.
If you tick the box then you only are supposed to get a warning if the POI is actually on the road that is on your route (so would not get these side road warnings) |

The reason for my initial question is that I have my POI's to warn 'Only when POI is on Route'.
For example; my 'Redlight Camera' warning is set to 350 yards. However, it always warns me of a redlight camera which is on a completely different road, and is no closer than 450 yards to the route I'm travelling.
I can understand people saying that they prefer to be warned of cameras when they are in unfamiliar areas, but it just adds to the confusion to be warned of cameras which are clearly off route. Particularly when TomTom POI's have been set to warn when only ON-route.
I would still like to know if this can be corrected. Or is it a bug ?
Cheers
