Should I pay to upgrade my ICN from SmartST V3 to SmartST 2005 or should I get a Navman 520 or a 550 TM?
The TM is a good idea, but some people are saying it's a bit messy with all the cables. Has this site reviewed the 550 yet? _________________ TTG 720

I can't say for certain, but Navman told me the upgraded maps are the latest available from Navteq. Certainly the end of my road which is closed off - but was not shown as closed on the 3.0 version is now shown correct as it was on a friends ICN520.
I think the answer would be YES |

The question is, should I keep my ICN 630 or just get a 520 or a 550 TM? Are the maps on the 550 and 520 the same? Halfords still offering a free snooper S2 with a Navman so it's a good deal as I can sell the snooper on. _________________ TTG 720

The maps shipping with SmartST2005 will more than likely be the same across the board. PiN, iCN5xx, iCN6xx and iCN320. _________________ Tim |

I never received an email....
I just happened to notice on the shop website that the new maps were available.
I agree - a friend has the ICN520 and I believe the maps are identical to the updated ICN6xx maps sold.
Mind you - i like the advantage of the in-built battery with the ICN520, and the stylus which makes entering postcodes easier. |

I'd say stay with the 630 and upgrade it. The screen on the 630 is much brighter than the 520.
My father has a 520 and it's barely visible on full brightness even on a fairly dull day. Plus the voice volume is louder on the 630.
Also don't expect to get the latest maps with the smartST 2005 upgrade, it's just the software, if you want the updated maps you need to buy those as well. |
