|
|
Hi all,
I just got my iCN 520 and put out national (Finnish) Speed Camera POI's to it. I don't know if it's different in other countrys, but our cameras mostly take a photo only from one directory.
Now i have a problem that i got alarm even i drive other lane and there is camera ahead that only takes photos from vehicles coming from opposite direction. Is there any way to fix that?
It's also a pity that it doesn't show POI information (or atleast i haven't found a way?). It could be easy to name speed camera POI for example "Street 1@50" and you would see that there is 50 speed limit.
I found kind of a solution to that. I made own camera POI's for differen't speed limits and assign a icon that shows me speed limit.
... but if you could get two more parameters to POI input file, direction and speed limit and also code to those on NavMan, that would be perfect :-) |

In the UK cameras do generally take the picture in one direction. On approaching a camera, you get an audible warning at the distance you have set. This then counts down to the camera, then counts back up to the setting distance - with another audible warning. Generally, cameras are 'detected' on either side of the road and you may also get warnings of cameras on other parallel roads or on bridges over motorways.
The Navman does show information for each type of camera such as Gatso or Mobile - depends what you call it when you load it. However, you cannot name each seperate camera!
I've not loaded speed limits but I assume that all 50kps or whatever, can be named as such which should do what you want.
Finally, your wish list (last para) would be great but not likely in the short terms. _________________ Gee-Pee

See http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-navman.php and in the instruction list (7. Now enter a name to appear within the Navman software.) _________________ Gee-Pee

Thanks Gee-Pee!
I didn't yet realise that name is also shown in NavMan. So now i can put different speedlimits in different name like "Camera-50" etc.
Hope Navman will soon make a possibility to define what direction cameras are taking photos, then it would be (almost) perfect. |
