I find the warnings really good - but my preferred list is:
SPEED CAMERA
SPEED 20
SPEED 30
SPEED 40
SPEED 50
SPEED 60
SPEED 70
MOBILE CAMERA
MOBILE 30
MOBILE 40
MOBILE 50
MOBILE 60
MOBILE 70
RED LIGHT
+1 tone warning for other POIs
Theres no need for a Mobile 20 as the police arenb't using defined mobile points in 20 zomes anywhere in the UK. Also I prefer 2 word warnings as then you hear the speed limit and can take action sooner. I set different distance warnings for each speed. |

If you use poiw extend you can have warning sounds for all the speed rated cameras including specs.
Download the zip files at the bottom of my page these include all the ogg files you need. _________________ Ray

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2005 8:36 pm Post subject: Help with Personalised POI sounds!!! THANKS |
|
|
Hi there
I was really impressed with the review about the personalised POI sounds for tomtom, after reading i thought i must put that on my system!!!
I have a TOmTOm v5.000 (4890) for my pocket pc device (HP rz1710). I downloaded the correct data.chk file for my pda, ( the one with build 4890) but your guide tells me to put it on SD card directory. When i look on SD card directory i dont see a existing data.chk file. There is only such thing in the folder TomTom in SD card. I tried replacing that with one you provide but it does not make any difference.
Is it something im doing wrong? My version is definitely compatible but i just cant seem to get it working.
Could you guys please help me ge this up and running please.?
Many thanks in advance

Hi Ramin,
You will find the data.chk in your Navigator folder in Program Files on your device and not the sd card. _________________ Ray

Hi ...
quick thing....i got it working now but i was wondering....are all cameras configured automatically as to which sound to have? or do i have to go through and choose a sound for cams.
how do i choose a different sound for a gatso in different position? I know i can choose a warning sound for a gatso...so everytime a gatso near that same sound is played....but how do i do it so different sounds play for same POI catogory?
Many thanks in advance

If you're using the data.chk file as the warning sound you can only have 1 warning for each category.
In the basic data.chk there are 15 'sounds', and some camera groups have to share a sound if there are more than 15 camera groups.
Each one has to be assigned manually. _________________ Richard

Ray - although your tool is a great idea it doesn't work with the latest release of the tom tom app for go 300.
It gives errors.
