This is a request to all who will be attending the PocketGPSWorld Basingstoke event!
Please ensure that you remove all traces of SatNav equipment from your vehicles, this includes SatNav, mounts, and those rings on the windscreen left by windscreen suction mounts.
Im sure that Basingstoke is a law-abiding place, but with over 700 people signed up for the event, there is the potential that a lot of those attending will already have a SatNav system. We all know that theft of SatNav equipment from vehicles is rapidly increasing. We dont want your visit to the Basingstoke event spoiled by damage to you vehicle and the loss of hundreds of pounds worth of equipment.

I was unsure whether I was going to go, so I never bothered registering... Does that mean I would be turned away if I just turn up???? |

Sadly yes as we have strict limits on th numbers of attendees, but if you register now we do have a limited number of spaces available. _________________ Darren Griffin |

A quick update, we currently have (at time of writing) 27 spaces remaining from our ceiling limit of 750.
Time's running out so if you wish to attend and haven't yet registered I would strongly urge you to do so. _________________ Darren Griffin |

A quick thank you to all who turned up. We had a little over 700 people attend and early feedback is very positive.
We'll definitely need a bigger venue next time!
We'll post a full post show report later but for now we're all having a rest. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Excellent event - thanks to everyone who organised and the companies who exhibited. Even my kids enjoyed it (well, the freebies from TomTom anyway!).
Now, do I replace my TomTom Go with a Garmin with TrafficMaster ... ???
Cheers ... Chris |

I'd like to add my thanks to all the organisers and sponsors. A superb event, and it was interesting to see the map data collection vehicle with all its cameras etc.
Thanks again,
PeteB

Great show, very impressive to see such a variety of equipment at a single location must have taken some organisation in the background, Many thanks it was also nice to put faces to names at long last.
The only problem I had was not being able to find any new speed cameras on the run home 330 miles (ish) and everyone camera I passed was spot on which also speaks highly of the quality data the site provides
So I never got to try the new Lutz application I am sure it will be used over the coming weeks Once again many thanks for an enjoyable evening and day - Mike |

Indeed, thanks for organising a great show, which can only be more crowded next time so a bigger venue would be a good idea. |

It was a lot of work getting this going and I am relieved that it went so well. We thought that the weather was going to affect us on the day, but we were lucky...
As far as capturing cameras are concerned dont just capture the new ones send the existing ones in as well. It gives us a chance to check that the cams we have in the database are accurate. We have software in place to identify and remove duplicates. Please feel free to capture every single camera you see and send it in. _________________ Lutz
