edit last post - sony actually officially ended support for betamax in 2002 - learn something everyday - still don't think anyone uses it in pro studios though! _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

The person who told me that left the Beeb last year.
Missing the point though, which was better, Betamax or VHS?
Let's try not to drag this off-topic too far. |

agree with that - very late night.
So who's going to upgrade to v4 first or receive a decent offer from michelin?
I would pay £35 ish at the moment for bug fixes and a map update. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

The comparison with Betamax and VHS may not have been a good one, but the idea is sound. Just because there's a product which is in all the shops, and selling like hot cakes, doesn't mean it's the best product.
After all, most of us buy and use Microsoft software, and how good is that ? |

but what is the vhs and what is the vhs version?
Tomtom is the vhs with the betamax quality?
VM could be the video 2000! (remember that format - possibly best of the lot! - got no where)

I bought V2.5 which worked OK and got a free upgrade to V3, so I guess I can't claim a free upgrade to V4. Has anybody contacted trading standards for their opinion? Would it apply to those who bought directly from France? Do the major resellers in this country like expansys know they're selling a pup? They might be interested in putting pressure on VM to avoid being landed with the problem themselves. Time for some direct action. Anybody know what TomTom for palm is like compared to VM? |
