|
|
Over the past few months during normal usage my TTGO 700 decided to reboot itself on several occasions for no apparent reason. Is this normal, should I be worried. _________________ TTGO 700 v6.15 External Aerial |

My TTG 300 does this quite regularly.
It tends to happen at the beginning of journeys, but I haven't worked out the exact circumstances yet. |

The GO needs room on the SD card for calculating routes etc. If you haven't got enough room it gets confused. Maybe it hasn't enough room to recalculate at route and starts again. The 300 with the 128 SD card has the least room and may be more prone to the problem. Try deleting any unneeded foreign voices. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Yes good reasoning I do have a 512 mb card with about 200 plus mb spare..which is maybe why mine never reboots!! |

In case it helps anyone, below is the reply I received from TomTom to my question about auto rebooting. Seems I will have to give up the SC extras and upgrade to v5.420 prove the point.
Pleased to say I got a reply within 25 hours

"This can happen if there is corrupted 3rd party data on the GO's harddrive or simply a file error in the software, so we would advise you to update to the latest software available:
Also make sure to uninstall any 3rd party POI's you might have installed as they may cause the system to crash." _________________ TTGO 700 v6.15 External Aerial |

too cute. Thanks for making my day.
It's rather somewhere in sgould's area - lack of disk space (though unlikely with a 700) or corruption of the hard disk. Better have your backup ready. _________________ Lutz
