a random hex code at the bottom would also look pretty cool - just in plain 'courier' text or something?
'AF376FF000GDD3441' <-- makes it look like a tracking code
however, all plans would be foiled when the thief does aa google for streetpilot i3 to find out how to work it, gets to this site, finds this thread then realises it was a trick, downloads the image software and comes to burn down your house from the 'home' favourite...

Just a thought, I would imagine if thief was fooled at all by the message he would have imediately dumped the I3 out the window.
P.S. Thanks for the Quotes.

Hi jkempster
Nice Splash Screen, but i find it's better to leave a space at the bottom of the screen as the Garmin copyright flashes up partly obscuring the picture if you don't. |

A bit boring - but I have created a bmp of the speed camera symbols, which I have made different colours depending on type. This flashs up to remind me what they are! |

crazylegs splash screen must be special. When the women in our offices saw my new splash screen they through their clothes of and tried to ravish me. The two Police women that pitched up to sort out the mayhem throughof their clothes and I was only saved as my wife turned up and fought them off.
The single guys have all bought I3's and are having a the time of their lives with my splash screen.
Crazylegs effort must be well impressive :-} |

As you can see (I hope!!) I have just added MaFTs bmps to the splash.
I change his mobile one to have purple background so I can distinguish it.
Works for me! |
