Just a quick note to appaud Acer for thier quick repair service
My N35 GPS quite simply wasn't working
Acer arranged pick-up and delivery with a turn around of 4 days
I had a new motherboard and antenna fitted
Quite chuffed with the service |

Yeah 4 day turnaround is good, was it the same PDA you got back or a refurbished unit? _________________ Regards

It was the same unit
Obviously it had been formatted but the GPS software was loaded and had been tested prior to shipping
Just thought I'd put some information on the forum about good service as most people are more eager to complain than praise |

yeah its a good service, i was just wondering if they replace then repair or carry out the repair there and then. Glad to hear you got it back working. _________________ Regards

Just thought that I would post a response to this post. My Acer N35 packed up after only one month - the little piece where the power lead connects to came away from the mainboard.
So I took it back to Comet - they then told me that they would have to send it back to Acer, two weeks went by and I had not heard anything, so I rang Comet back - asking what was happening - to be told "the person who dealt with you isnt in today - you will have to call back" a week later nothing - two weeks later (a month in total) nothing so I went into the store.
Talking to an idiot whilst he cleaned his nails with a pen top - to be told that they did not have any record of my PDA. At this point steam was coming out of the top of my head - I, at this point DEMANDED to speak to the manager - to be told "Whats the point - we still dont have a record of it"
Supervisor comes, I explain the situation - she pulls out a folder - and tells the "IDIOT" the only reason you cant find it is because it's in the "waiting to be collected" folder
All in all - I am sure that this is not indicative of all comet stores but I will never make a purchase from Comet - Selly oak Birmingham again
And getting back to why I started this rant - Why didn't I just send it back to acer direct????? |
