Trying to get a GPS signal on above combo.
Reading forum froma search seems to indicate the 1940 has no COM port support, I tried using IRDA, with the little red lamp thing in top of the car cradle kit and chose IRDO204S option in TT5 GPS section.
Any ideas on getting this working?
This is a friends GPS, I foolishly said I would install it all thinking it would be a 15 minute job..... 4 hours later |

Suppose should quote properly.
In TT5 GPS options, I can choose S2410 IRDA2410 (I assumed this one for IRDA)
Also has COM3:
S2410 COM0
Serial on USB
Tried all out just to make sure even though I knew they shouldnot be right. |

Soz for trouble, found post about turning off Checkbox for receive all infra red beams.
Wrapped up warm, went to the car (Freezing out there tonight) and BINGO! it found a signal :D
Logic seems backwards, you need a signal , but you turn off beam |
