|
|
Hi guys, new to this forum so I hope you can help me!
I have done a complete reboot of my Ipaq & installed the new 5.0 sofware & Maps. I have been on the TomTom support site & followed the instructions to get the full postcode list by copying the zip file from the SD card to 'my documents on 'my device' the problem now is that there is not enough memory to run tom tom!!!! & have I have not installed any other software on the ipaq & it has all it's factory settings.
The main reason i upgraded to v5.0 was for the fullpostcode facility. I haven't even tried to install the speed cameras yet!!
How do I remedy this?
Thanks in advance

Do NOT attempt to install anything into RAM on this machine - it's just too small.
The postcode file needs to go into a \zip folder on the storage card.
The program itself also should be installed to storage card. _________________ Lutz

no, that's not correct. It needs to be in a folder called zip.
There is a catch. Quote: | - UK 7 digit PostCode will not work until there is a Tomtom folder on the storage card (even though it can be empty). The postcode file has to be in the ZIP folder on the storage card. |

Result!!!!!! :D
Thanks mike I think thats sorted it.
One other thing that I didn't expect is that when planning a route from home to a full post code it still then asks for a house number????
I use this a lot for business & they tend to be in units or ind estates, hence no house numbers! That's why I washoping the full post code list would just direct me straight there!

It will get you close enough to see the 'writing on the wall'. _________________ Richard

Surely the postcode will direct you to the postcode 8O
If you are required to have any more detail, then you need to specify a location within that postcode. _________________ -------------------------------------------------------
