But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Is there any news on the map updates ? anyone know ? cheers
Hi,
When I spoke to a Garmin representative at the Basingstoke event a couple of weeks or so ago, he seemed to think that it would be January before they announced the exchange arrangements.
It currently looks as if we might have to send in our existing cards in to be exchanged, or reprogrammed, rather than just being able to download the latest version from their website, which would be a shame.

The Garmin team were out in force on the first day of the Boat Show.
I enquired about the possible update of the map sofware for the i3. I was assured that Garmin would undertake to upgrade our software and that there would be an announcement on the Garmin Website in February.
Maps/routing - a mixed bag here. The One's routing is the best by far - it uses the routes you'd choose if you knew all the best routes whereas the i3 can choose some very odd (and slow) ones.
Anyone know why the i3 chooses routes that it knows are slower? Three times yesterday I ignored it's instructions and immediately got ETA's that were around 11 minutes earlier!

Odd indeed eg:
Watford,Herts to Plymouth,Devon via M3 and country routes when M4/M5 is quicker
