I have been using the 700 now for 6 months with very few problems. The other day it would not switch on. I had to reset it at least 6 times before it would fire up and then it took at least 15 mins to get a gps signal. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and what the possible cause might be. |

He doesn't have a card. It's all on Hard Drive.
Howie555 - I don't have a 700, so I'm unable to offer any real advice. Have you tried scanning the device for disk errors? _________________ Richard

Connect TT to PC via USB cable.
In Windows Explorer, Right Click the Drive and choose Properties, or on Desktop, Double Click My Computer, Right Click the Drive and choose Properties
Choose Tools Tab and Error Checking. _________________ Richard

I thought you might like to know I e mailed Tom Tom with the problem and they imediatly no questions asked have offered to send a new unit out once they recieve the old one,all shipping costs paid by them.
Not wanting be without my 700 for at least a week I spoke to manager at Dixons where I bought the 700 and although they are not obliged to, as it is 5months old they have agreed to replace it. I also, to be on the safe side decided to take out the 5 year warranty for £98 which covers you for a replacement should it break again and a free ipod. |

Actually they are obliged to - it's the law now. If aproduct develpos a fault within 6 months of purchase, then it is deemed to have been fualty at day of purchase and the consumer is entitled to an exchange or refund depending on usage and expected life of product. - Sales of Goods Act 1979 (Amended). |
