Hi, my friend has purchaser an XDAIIi and I have installed Tomtom Navigator 5, the phone recognises the GPS reciever but I can not get Tomtom to pick it up even after configuration.
Hope someone can help.

You have to give more information before some else can help you.
For a start, hve you unchecked the notorius IR Beam associated with all XDA?
What GPS do you have?
How do you configure the software?
What happened? _________________ Pc-Mobile

Well some of that information was already in the 1st message, the GPS reciever is a Dell Navtech on board BT-309 it works fine on my XDA II mini with the same software mine goes in com 5. On my friends XDAIIi it doesn't give com 5 as an option on the GPS configuration, so we have tried them all and all we get is no GPS device.
We have disabled all incoming IR Beams so I don't think it's that. |

For GPS setup use "other wired NMEA device" set the baud speed then on the last page selct the Bluetooth com port, I know its bizare using wired with a BT device but it does work, one other point is the device running GPS Gate software ? if so you will need to configure that. The IRdA issue is only applicable if you are using a wired device.

Hello Dogeggs2002,
In tomtom go to main menu then select: change preference, then show GPS status.
Top right of the GPS status page should be a small black and orange circle, this should be turning clockwise, I need you to tell me if it is or if it is not.
Regards
