|
|
Hello, I recieved today my map update for my TTGo....but there are no instructions at all for installing the new maps etc onto an exsiting SD card, obviously I want to keep my larger card with europe maps and install the newer GB maps frpm the update, can I just copy and paste the map folder or is there an install procedure I must go through?
BTW I have already upgraded to version 5.420
Best regards David |

You can remove the old map folder (remember to save your POI's first) and just copy the map folder from one sd card to the other.
You will need to activate the map as, at this stage, the program doesn't know about it. Also do a backup of the new card to the PC. Just in case. _________________ Richard

Thanks Richard, but I have just opened both cards and the new GB maps folder is almost twice the size of the old GB maps! So I will need to get a 1 gig card to be able to install the new GB maps with my Europe maps as well.......
Nothing ever goes that smooth, does it?
BTW...I did expect a CD rom from TomTom not the SD card I received.

Another quick question Richard, I noticed on the new card there are several new folders, do I need to copy any of these over or just the maps folder?
I was afraid that if I missed a particular folder maybe something might not work!

On mine I have 4 Folders. Map, itn,zip and TomTom-cfg.
I can't remember now how many there were on the original, probably only the map and tomtom_cfg.
I would copy all the SD card to the bigger card and then upgrade to 5.42 again.
You say the Map Folder is a lot bigger. It could be that you have the GB-Plus map. _________________ Richard

It's the intergrated Major Roads of Europe. With the Classic it came as an additional file to the GB Map.
You can therefore navigate through Europe on the major roads, and in GB at street level, without switching maps. _________________ Richard
