I only had this on the spec pocketgps_uk_specs_nn.ov2 POIs which previously didn't appear on the old update. These don't have BMPs associated with them. Is it just these your missing your icons for, or all camera POIs? The rest appear just fine for me. |

TomTom have removed the download from their site, because of reported problems with the new firmware. _________________ Gunnar Nystul, Forum Admin, TomTom Forum Norway and Nystul Navigasjon |

It's back online again.
Apparently there was an error with their own Plus server, resulting in wrong messages. |

TomTom did contact us to explain the removal of the update. I composed an announcement, went to publish and at the same time received an update that the issue had been resolved and the update was back on-line!
The issue appeared to concern the Traffic Service. However all appears well once more so normal service is resumed! _________________ Darren Griffin |

According to TomTom most freezes are a result of using 5.420 together with SDK apps, designed for v5.202 (like ScaredyCat's apps).
If you want to keep on using the Autoswitcher etc. you should NOT update to the new version but stick to the version the Autoswitcher was developed for. |

Which begs the question, "Why the Hell produce a Software Development Kit and then make it redundant almost straight away?" Surely this is just sloppy programming by TomTom to make something that doesn't work with your own product?!! |

I have used the updated Data.chk file this morning and the sounds are not correct. i.e. some are missing and others are in the wrong order. Is this just me? _________________ Brad |

I'd love to know who is planning and testing all these software changes.................................
Oh sorry I do know it's us
TomTom useful hint : - Testing is good, Testing makes sure you keep your customers happy.
Firng an update into the wild then jumping behind a rock and hoping it won't go BANG - this is bad............. damages reputations and upsets customers.
Thought - You could even ask us to be involved before you release it - I believe it's called BETA testing . There are loads of people who would jump at the chance to do this and has the added benefit that less confident users could stay with a stable version whilst voluntary furry mammals throw themselves off metaphorical software cliffs for you and enjoy themselves doing it. _________________ Thanks,

I had problems installing over 5.0 (no Scaredy) and several others have reported problems trying it over 5.201 (again presumably no Scaredy).

Mark. |

you don't "install over" anything, you always do a complete replace of system, ttsystem, and data.chk . If that's not what you did this may explain your problems. _________________ Lutz
