I have just bought a Go 300 hoping to be able to mount it into a compartment in the dash. The unit itself fits perfectly but obviously looses signal. I probably have an extra 5mm of height to play with which isn't enough for the standard external antena base.
Are there any antena's that work from the usb port (probably a stupid question) or has anyone performed a mod to make the mount slimmer? |

Definitely not through USB.
The antenna connection on the base could be used, but getting hold of the mating connector is not easy and needs crimping onto the cable with special (expensive) tooling.
Your perfect solution sounds like a re-radiating antenna, which collects the signals, then re-transmits them inside your car.
Try a search on here and the Mytomtomgo forum as it has been discussed and I seem to remember someone offered a link or a model number. |

Andy
Thanks for the advice. I've found a link to somebody who had the same problem with the same car and the re-radiating antenna did the trick.
Thanks again |
